Groups
Ampersand Counseling offers customized therapeutic groups for both existing and new clients alike.
Please see see below for more information on any available groups or to express interest in future group therapy.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT GROUPS:
All therapy groups are Self-Pay. We do NOT bill insurance for group sessions.
Group participation will be through an application & invitation process to help ensure a good fit among participants.
Each group will have a minimum # of participants in order to begin. If we do not have enough interest to move forward, groups may be postponed and applicants will be notified and given the first opportunity for any future session dates.
Unlike individual therapy, we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality within a group setting. To build trust and help maintain confidentiality among participants, each person (even minors) will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Because of the limited size of groups, participants are making a commitment to pay for all sessions. No refunds will be given for missed sessions or for participants who do not finish the group.
Consistency is critical so attendance is mandatory for all sessions, except in cases of emergency. Missing more than one absence without notice may result in the participant no longer being allowed to continue.
Teen Social Skills Group
Who: High School students ages 14-17 of any gender who experience one or more of the following: social anxiety, isolative tendencies, challenges making friends or maintaining relationships, and obsessiveness with technology in lieu socialization.
What: Experienced facilitator Bethany Brazzell, LCSW will be guiding this group of 5-8 teens to improve their social skills through discussion, activities, and psychoeducation. The curriculum will be CBT & DBT based, and participants will receive a binder with resources and skills. Learn more about Bethany here.
When: Weekly on Saturdays from 4:00-5:30pm starting April 25th and finishing June 13th (8 of sessions total)
Where: In person at our Pflugerville clinic
Cost: $50 per session or $400 total — deposit of $200 due at time of enrollment, final payment of $200 due on May 15th
